If you guys do everything you have listed on your site with each converter, that's a lot more than even some of the more expensive guys do. 9.5" is a very good size to go with too.

Well, I won't say which brand it was, but when my old converter/tranny died, I had it rebuilt by a local guy that does converters (been doing it for 20 some years, and builds them for all the single digit drag cars in town, as well as for pretty much anything else) and he showed me the insides of it, and I was very suprised to find out that it was all stock parts inside, as well as parts from a ford tranny (also stock) that had been modified so it would work with the GM stuff. Not a bad thing to do, just weird.
It was an older converter that they don't make anymore, so it may be different now, but that particular converter wasn't anything special. Not that it was bad at all, in fact it was an awesome converter (picked up .7-.9 in the 1/4 with it), but nothing inside was special, custom or even stronger than stock.
So, for what you guys do with it, and that size of converter, that's a very good price for what you get. I would seriously look into your converters knowing what I know now if there wasn't a local guy in town that builds them.

the lower stall converters up to 3000 stall are tuning exempt as no special tune is needed, a real cost advantage
