4l80 swap
4l80 swap As of right I am trying to decide whether to switch to a th400 or a 4l80. Just recently my fully built 4l60 decided to blow up after six months with about 2500 miles on it and 4 track passes. Needless to say the garage that I had build it has decided they were not going to warrenty any of it right after they just got done saying that they stand behind there work.
I know about the cost and whats needed to swap to a th400 but am unsure I want to lose overdrive. So my other option is switching to a 4l80. I know its got to be a 2wd tranny and that I am going to need a new torque converter, but can I reuse the rest of the stock equiptment. Also is there any specific year tranny that needs to be used for the swap.
