Tranny takes to long to shift!!

Tranny takes to long to shift!! In the last couple days, I have noticed that my tranny( I believe) has been acting wierd. When I take off, the tranny wont shift at the normal point. I can usually feel when it is gonna shift, and now it takes an extra 500rpms or so before it does. It feels like when you are driving a manual car and don't shift when you are supposed to shift, and let the rpms go up higher. The thing is that it won't do this at WOT. It also doesn't do it all the time. It will do it the whole time I am driving the car. I then turn off the car, turn it on, and it won't do it anymore. A while later it will start again. It happens about 2/3rds of the time I drive it. When it is doing this, the car feels like if I was pushing tha gas a bit, to get the rpms going. It just wants to take off. What could be wrong? Thanks in advance.
asuming a 4l60e , I would check the codes first but if there are none consider changing the TPS

It does this when the car is already at operating temperature. It will only do it driving around the street, not on the highway. It will be running fine, then I will take off when the light goes green and it will happen. It keeps doing it until I stop at a store or something, turn off the car, and let it sit for a bit. I turn to car on, then it's gone.

I have a 2000 camaro ss with an auto in it. Every gear shifts perfectly find except when it goes from 2nd to drive it hits the rev limiter. We adjusted when the tranny should shift and still hits the rev limiter. any help would be great
