Crossmember bolt hole locations

Search is down so........... maybe a retarded question but I am curious about transmission crossmembers. Does the type of crossmember you use depend on 1) the motor (LSx or LTx) or 2) the actual location of the bolt holes? Let me explain, does the motor change the dimension (actual location of the driveline components) OR are the bolt holes in different locations for different models of the F body? Reason I ask is I am piecing together an LSx project in a factory LTx car.

Aww come on I know this isn't that retarded. I don't have anyone's LSX car to compare.

i think what your asking is if you put a ls1 in a lt1 car do you have to change the tranny crossmember?

The bolt holes and location are not the same in the 97 down lt-1 and the 1998 Ls1 floor pans for the crossmember and the crossmember is different too.
