Why would this be? I'm having touble finding the difference between the 2 and TCI's web site isnt even showing the 242939 can anybody help out here?

PM Kevin Winstead for details. He works for TCI and is always helpful. I had similar questions about the differences between the SSF 3500 and 3800 Competition version I ordered a couple of years ago.

TCI 3800 specs
1. Shift Extension - 5000 rpms
2. Converter Efficiency - 95.5%
3. Difference between the SSF 3500 and 3800.
The 3800 and higher stall converters are considered Competition converters. The impellor is the part that is upgraded.
4. Size & Weight - It's a 9.5" converter. It weighs 28.6 lbs dry.
5. It is a GM 245mm housing.
6. Note: You will have to drill out your one of your flexplate holes to 1/2". Two of them are already 1/2" from the factory. We use heavy duty 7/16x20 bolts in most of our LS1 converters now.
7. Our written warranty is 90 days...although we typically cover our customers for the first year.
