Default Torque Converter...

I am looking into a budget build with my car, and am going to get the PerformaBuilt Stage 1 4L60E. The car will be a forged H/C 355 setup with spray in the future (around the mid 400's is my goal). It's still my EVERYDAY daily driver, and am about to start college in the summer. My question is if I go with the 2500 stall from PerformaBuilt, will I be disappointed? I may go with the Yank 3000 instead, but don't want any worse gas mileage than I'm already getting with this thing. And I am sticking with 3.23 gears.

Well My personal suggestion is the 9.5 3000 series we have , and if you want it in a lower stall it can be stalled down to 2600 rpm. It would certainly be more efficient than the oem size 2500 and is lighter so will turn up better. So anyone else will know our converter s are available in any stall speed not just the listed stalls, they are priced one up. For instance a 2600 9.5 is priced as a 3000 and a 3200 is priced as a 3500 FYI

Personally, I think 3000 is the lowest I would go.....you will just want to go bigger later on if you get something smaller than 3000.

i had a 3200 for about a year and restalled it to 4400. i wish i had gone to the 4400 first. i have no od and no lock up and i dont mind driving it the slightest.
