Default Question for a friend

hey guys, by buddy has a 1990 IROC-Z with a freshly rebuilt 700R4. He took his old one out as a core for this new one. the new one has a 2800 stall converter and some kind of shift kit. anyways the point im trying to get at is when he floors it, the car shifts really early. unfortunately i can't tell you what rpm it is shifting at because his tach is broken. also when he is just crusing and punches it from a roll it doesnt downshift first. any suggesions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

-Mike

sounds like the TV cable is either not hooked up or miss ajusted (cable from trans to carb or throttle body) tell him to check that first and do not drive untill he has it figured out you can burn one up in only a few miles

well something isnt right tell him to check it push the tab down move the end into the cable towards the firewall , then release tab while holding it all the way in , Now push gas petal to floor as hard as you can you should hear a clicking sound , now provided everything else is right it should shift correctly
