this isn't really an interesting topic, but i'm just looking for clarification. could someone please distinguish the years of these transmissions for me please?

4l60=700r4 from 82 to 93
4l60e= 3 case syles 93 to 97 one peice/96 to - bolt on bell non ls1/98 up ls1 type
A4 =SAME AS ABOVE ALSO AND AUDI TRANSMISSION
M6=NOT SURE BUT LATE MODEL GM

a4 and m6 when used on a gm site are usually slang for "automatic 4 speed" and manual 6 speed". kinda like "TTT" and "IIRC", just helps to save the poster time.
