Default WHICH TORQUE CONVERTER??

Ok, which one? Yank or Vigilante? I don't want to pick based on advertising, I want to pick based on other's experience and wisdom. Let me know.

This is the ? of all f-body crew. I went with a vig at first I've put down some 1.66 60' ft time this is a 4000 stall and it seems to me friend who have yanks pull up stairs better or stronger I'VE DECIDE TO GO TO A 4400 YANK. I think I'll like it better than my vig up stairs! Just my opinions I hope this helps

It really depends on your primary use of the vehicle. If street racing is in the plans on drag radials, I would go with a SY3500 for a daily driver. I personally have the Yank ST3500 and pull 1.58-1.61s with full 3550 weight, but you have to have some sticky tires. It hits HARD. It's in my waifes' daily driver and it's very streetable. Many others here prefer more stall like the PT4400. Vigs are good and have had excellent results also , but in my experience and from friends , they run a tad bit slower than the Yanks. I ahve heard very little about SES lights and converter related issues with the Vigs though. I hope this helps. Good luck!!

Ok. My goal is to improve my 60' and E/T times at the drag. But, this is my every day driver as well. Right now I have Kumho high perf tires and they're 16s. They have a **** load of tred. I'm going to be getting some slicks to put on for when I go to the track. I should be getting those in a couple of weeks. . . . what else? I want the one that hits the best, but is also not going to cause me major problems.
Thanks guys.

do you car if it has a loose feeling? A YTP 4400 is king of the track. A Vig 3200 is a tamer choice.

Carmen99Bird

Just got my Midwest 3000 stall 2.5 STR installed about 2 weeks ago. Paid $455 shipped and I love this thing. The car is my wife's daily driver and before I got it I was very concerned about looseness but it's very tight, moves right off idle just like stock. I am only about 30-40 minutes away from you. If you want a test drive give me an e-mail, or PM. Whatever you get your gonna love it. It kinka levels the playin field with the M6 cars.

vig3600 in mine and i love it. Car feels like stock now. You get use to a converter fast

YTP4400's are the best out there right now
YTP4000-4200 are nice

but if you are putting this in your daily driver/wifes car i'd stick with maybe a vig3200

maybe a yank ST3500 also

both will have awesome 60's and nittos will hold them if you burn them out right

with both verters you're looking at 1.6-1.7 60's and probably mid 12's without headers

if your car is a daily driver and you want near stock feel, then id say go with the vig for sure...they seem to be much tighter than the yank's. i have an ST3500 and its nice and loose, but thats the way i like it. you will get used to the converter fast, so i say get a bit more than you initially want, chances are youll still end up wanting more anyways.

Well, just to give more opinions on the Vig3200 ... mine could be a vig3600 though. Check out my videos section to see how it is around the street and what it is like at WOT. With this converter and ET Streets I was able to cut a best 60' of 1.74 at an average track. See my sig for my best time and the DA for the time of the run. It corrects to ~12.2 @ 110 at a decent, well hooking (downhill Texas ) track. I like my Vig, it was a good choice for my 150-mile/day driver. Like everyone says, you'll get used to it. I have, it now seems normal. Maybe in the future (a year or more) I might step up to a big Yank ... maybe.

Thanks for the responses guys. I still haven't made up my mind. I want it to still feel tight though, so I'm somewhat leaning towards Vig. But like superspOrt said, I know I'm going to want more . . . and more and more!! So I may just go ahead and get the biggest and best and quit worrying about it.
Oh, and by the way 98TAauto, I'm a CHIC!! And as far as I know, I have no wife since I'm not gay and all so . . . That's ok though. Y'all are so used to talking to just guys. I know, I'm wierd. A girly girl that loves cars. But, what can I say? LS1s are the ****!!
hehehe Anyway. Thanks guys, I appreciate it.
