Default Vigi 3600 Initial Impression

This thing is loose! I had a vigi 3200 in the past that gave up zero in drivability in my opinion compared to stock. The vigi 3600 feels quite a lot looser. I have only gone about 2 miles on it since I installed it. Man, the install on jack stands was hell. Probably 8 hours all together. I was meticulous about the routing of wires, etc.

Anyway, I installed MT street radials at the same time while it was on jack stands. I want to heat cycle the car a couple more times, and check the fluid level before going WOT. I'm not sure I could recommend this converter for a daily driver. It would be a bit of a compromise for me to daily drive the car with this converter. I am sitting around 2800 rpms to take off from a light at a normal speed. This car is not my daily driver so I am not really bothered by that one bit. I hope for low 1.6's 60 ft as is.

I will have times from it soon!

That is probably due to the Vigilante converters being more loose than other brands. Your 3600 will likely flash to 4000 or maybe even a little higher depending on your weight and power. So in essence you have a 4000 stall

really? i was under the impression that vigilante was one of the tighter converters. when i think of loose converters, i think of TCI and fuddle. i've always understood that vigilante was on the same quality level as yank along with the same streetability.

My Vig3600 was way too loose too. Would flash at 4000 maybe 4200. Was no fun at all to drive in the city especially with a Borla exhaust sans cats needing to rev it up to get it to start moving - raspy and annoying. Rearend is 3.73.

I sent it back and restalled at 3000.

Am replacing with a Yank PY3400 which I am told is much tighter in city driving but will still perform great behind my D1SC ATI.

I love my 3600.. flashes to over 4000K on sticky tires. thats with 2.73 gears too but this vig is much tighter and has a solid lockup compared to the Fuddle 3400 that I had.

my Vig 32-3400 (it's in that range, asked for a 3400) is super tight, I can run from a stop at 2500rpm and out run all traffic, i had a TCI 3400 SSF in here prior and even though at WOT they feel identical, the Vig is 100x better for driving around town, and rememember I have 1200+lbs on you guys.. I was told by Jack the stator and other internals they use is the reason it's so much more drivable at low rpm's compared to other brands... I have also driven a yankSS3600 and it was (as expected) looser than this..

How loose a converter is has nothing to do with the quality. He is just saying a vig 3600 is going to flash 4k, a 3200 to 3600, etc.

I've got no complaints with this converter after some more driving with it today. I will get use to the higher stall during driving, but I think it will effect gas mileage quite a bit. Not being my daily driver I think this was the perfect choice for me. I will know for sure once I hit the track.

whats the STR on this stall???

vigs arent "looser" persay, more like they underrate their stall speeds

also vig 3200 has seen 1.6 60's so get your susp set & some good meat hooks under there, remove some weight and get some sub 1.5's

Yeh I think you will loose some mpg's. I just put in my fuddle 3800 last week. and it is pretty loose also. my mpg's went from 15mpg's. to around 12-13mpg's...
