Talking Converters= Gray Area For Me Can Someone Explain

OK IM PRETTY NEW IN THE DRAG RACING SCENE, I JUST JOINED LS1TECH AND I KEEP READING ABOUT CONVERTERS AND GUYS ARE TALKING ABOUT DIFFERENT SIZE CONVERTERS IE: 10 INCH, 8 INCH, OK I UNDERSTAND STALL SPEED AND THE RELATION TO TORQUE BUT I DONT UNDERSTAND FLASH STALL OR THE INCH SIZE OF THE CONVERTERS AND I KEEP HEREING ABOUT GUYS SAYING THAT THE CONVERTERS TO TIGHT AND TO LOOSE BUT I DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT, IT WOULD BE APPRECIATED IF SOMEONE COULD EXPLAIN THIS TO ME.

Im running a bbc 402, 11:1 cp, 540 lift cam, 238,248 at .050, with 112lsa, powerglide trans, with a tci street fighter 3000rpm stall, 10 inch converter, with 3:73 gears in a 72 nova and im curious if this is a good choice, good company, and a reliable consistent converter, also have not took the car to the track yet and am kinda curious what kinda et times it might turn on 27 inch tall slickks with no trans brakeand full interior, i havent weighed the car but im guessing around 3550 with me in it.

Thanks
