Default TCI LS1 Torque Converter

Your thoughts? I read a horrible comparison of it right here.

http://xs-fx.com/raughammer/TCI%20ex...rs_exposed.htm

I just bought one used so I'm a little weary. Anybody have any experience??

Mike

Between my husband, myself, and our friends, we have run several TCI converters in LS1 cars and have had no problems out of any of them. The first one my husband got about a year ago set a trans slip code and TCI replaced it under warranty with no questions asked. I also tested one TCI converter with Kevlar lining. It didn't work, but they immediately sent me a carbon-fiber clutched converter. Since then, we've been thrilled with the performance (and durability) of all of our TCI's and plan to install a TCI 4400 tonight.

Mike, It seems like you are havin second thoughts about my converter.
If you would like I will tear up the check and keep it I can do that. I can understand your thought process after seeing one post on here about an actual problem with a TCI but if you do a search I guarantee you will find more posts about problems with the almighty Yank.

I have used mine for awhile and never had a problem with it other than the time I ran the tranny fluid low. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

The only reason I am selling it is because TCI doesnt have a free upstall program. If they were to tell me I could send it back and change it to a 3800 I would in a heartbeat. The TCI is as efficient up top as my stock stall and that is what I wanted. On BFG DR's I was cutting consistent 1.7 60's and still runnin 110 on the top.

IMO I think it ranks above the Vig but I cant say anything about the Yank since I havent got mine yet. I will let you know how they compare in about 2 weeks.

Later, Stu

Stu,
If Mike decides that he doesn't want that StreetFighter, I'll be glad to upgrade it to the Super StreetFighter for you. It typically takes around 2 days after I get the converter.

Hmm, The SSF would make for a good comparison to the Yank that you've got on order.

Take Care,
Kevin
