Default stupid question

ok so i took the blown up piece of crap out of my 98 trans am. and i took the replacement out of my 98 camaro z28 parts car. anyways when i unbolted the tranny so i could put the new motor in with the tranny that was already in the car i noticed the torque converter was gold. however on the motor i pulled out of my trans am. it was blue and there are b&m stickers on my tranny. could this be an aftermarket converter. is there any way to tell?

There should be a number stamped on it somewhere. Put the number in the search box at summitracing.com, if it's a B&M converter it will show up there.
Also if it's smaller than 12 inches OD it's not stock.
