Fully manual, auto trans?
I have researched this subject and havent found any good info.. So, I am wanting to take my M6 out and put a fully built 4L60e in my car.
But, I am wanting to go with a manual valve body instead of having to rely on the ECU to do all the shifting.. I have heard if I go with a MVB, that I would need a manual switch for the convertor lockup? So, if I go that route, then am I gonna need any wiring harness at all except for the speedo? I could just use part of my M6 harness for the speedo then, right?
I am sure some people on here have done this before, but I searched and couldn't find anything on this matter..
TIA

Because it seems like I hear everyone complaining about the computer not shifting it before it getting on the rev limiter. And if its manual vavle body, there is NO hesitation, and it shifts very firm.
Anyone?

It would be a hell of a lot easier since you're taking a manual trans out, you'd need no wiring harness for the trans.
M6 speedo plug will plug right in to the A4. If you want to manually lock the TCC you Just need to run one wire from a switch to the tcc solenoid.
You're also going to need tuning, and the A4 will have to be vacuum modulated.

He is correct on the A4. we just installed a sheetmetal intake. Motor wants to spin to 7500rpms. The ECU will not let it. Could only go to 6600rpms. Sucks!! Now I`m saving for a tranny swap!
