Keep the 4l80e or....

Keep the 4l80e or....
sell it and go with a built 4l65e.
My situation is lq4 with a cam swap possibly with a ls6 head swap for compression, going into 65 chevy c10 hoping for atleast 400 at the wheels. The reason I was considering ditching the 4l80e is the extra power it takes to turn it, approx 25hp from what i read. I also read some of the power can be recouped with an aftermarket torque converter but have no idea how much is gained back.
If I decide to sell the 4l80e how much is it worth. its a 2001 from a van with 44k mileage on it.
Hoping that some of the ls1tech wisdom will guide me in the right direction
Thanks
Graham
