Default which converter should i get......

ive been looking and reading up on vigs and yanks and have mixed opinions about both. ive heard that vigs are very loose and ive heard that they are strong. ive heard that yanks are undependable and also that they are strong. i want a stall between 3400-3600 w/ the following mods to my car: lid, FTRA, S2 TB, macs w/ mac y-pipe, 3.42's and BFG's at the track. which converter will be hardly noticeable on the street, best gas mileage, and the MOST dependable. which one will i need/not need a tranny cooler with, and which one will i have no worries about my tranny/gears with? all feedback is welcome, im gonna start saving $$$ now and need the most honest and trustworthy feedback possible. thanks guys.

I'd suggest you watch the board for a while, since you are not ready to buy. If you want a converter that is hardly noticable, doesn't effect mpg and needs no cooler, your options are very limited and your choice is limited to 2600 - 2800 true stall, IMO.

I agree with Ragtop most 3500 stall converters will require a cooler. Do a search of converters I think you will find a great deal of info.

No matter what higher stall converter you decide on, you will be wise to add a cooler. Higher stall converters simply are going to generate more heat by their nature. Getting rid of that extra heat will benefit longevity. After you've spent near a grand on first quality TC and install an extra hundred for a cooler/install is cheap insurance. As far as what brand, I've never read about the Vig' having any quality questions but that's what I have and most of us tend to support our own decisions. Good luck.
