Question Is the V6 & V8 4L60E the same?

I will need a new one for my 99 V6 Firebird. Are the tranny's different or the same? Is one weaker/stronger than the other or completely different? I need to know if I need to look for a V6 or V8 tranny or just have mine rebuilt.

Thanxs..

The V6 and V8 units are very different , And will not interchange, Different input shafts being the big thing, The 3.4 , 3,8 units have a setup all there own.
We do make this unit they are under our LT1 type units ,
check them out The level 1 would be ideal for most any V6 application
