Default Mystery Solved A4 vs CPU

Ever since I started modding my car I've had this nagging problem.Every time you ran the car at WOT you hit the rev limiter between 1st and 2nd. Sometime once sometimes as much as 4 times. I have had the car dyno tuned and we set the cpu to change 1 to 2 as low as 5800 and the bitch would still head for 7000. I had the tranny rebuilt twice, raybestos z-pack,2-4 wide bands not to mention the transgo shift kit, same ****. Tranny shops says its the tuners fault, tuner says its the trannys bad. So after spinning this last rod bearing while the car was tore all to pieces anyway I said to hell with the tranny and got one from performabuilt. I figured since they didn't require my 4L60E as a core, if the car still did it I would be able to sell my old 4L60E to a friend.Well the tranny was at fault. I guess I can use the old one for a boat anchor.

Glad your problem is solved . I know it can be difficult to make that determination , Thats why at least for our customers so they can make that determination we now have a tester box you plug directly into the trans It allows you to turn each solenoid on and off and ajust presure and enable disable lockup manually without the PCM while driving down the road to select each gear, So if and or when this type issue comes up with one of our trans as I am sure it will in time we can send this box to our customer and instruct them on how to use it so they can make the determination TRANS/OR TUNE once and for all. This is another addition we have made to help our customers with issues and take the guess work out of the equation.
But I am glad you problem is fixed
