What thread type on the 46OLE Tranny Case for cooler lines?
What thread type on the 46OLE Tranny Case for cooler lines? Do i need a 1/4 straight pipe that goes into the case for tranny cooler lines or is it NPT which is flared on the end? Just don't want to put the wrong fitting in the case and it leak.
It is 1/4 straight pipe.
Some people use 1/4 pipe thread fittings in tight clearance issues,
but you have to be VERY careful not to overtighten the
fitting and crack the case.
Use some LIQUID teflon pipe sealer and just snug the fitting down.
I would advise trying to just use the 1/4 straight thread
fittings if at all possible.

If you are using braided line check out this thread. https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic-transmission/679549-custom-6an-cooler-lines-installed-pics.html There is a lot of good info and I believe we have the fittings that you will need for the case in stock. Give us a call for the fittings or for info on them. You will need to be careful when installing them because they are a little longer than the oem fittings. Also once they are installed you will need to hold them in place with a wrench when either installing the lines or when removing them. If you need fittings for steel lines we can probably help you there as well. Hope this is what you are looking for. Vince
