Will any year 4L80E trans work behind a 6.0L ? What are the differences in the one that came behind the 6.0L and the ones that didn't? Reason i'm asking is that i got one for free that needs building but i'm not sure of the year it is.

 

The year model was on a tag above the pan rail on the passenger side . all were the same gear ratio , parts were updated in the later years and were better for the most part . 91/93 had early electrical connector which is not available any longer . 98 and up moved one of the cooler lines to the center of the case , that may help you id it

an LSX 4L80E has a bolt hole at 12 o'clock. '99 and up.
