Anyone ever try a paddle shifter ona 4l60E?

I was wondering about it and found someone that makes them! But is it just a novelty item or is it usable?

I never saw it before but it definitely looks cool if it auctually works. Id like a black one though so it blends in w/ my car and looks a little more stock.
