Default External trans filter and thermostat worth it?

I have to re-route my transmission cooler lines and was thinking that while I was in there I should add an external filter and a thermostat like the ones made by permacool. Right now my trans runs at 130 deg cruising on the highway during the summer and even when I hot lap it at the strip or tow in stop and go traffic I have never seen it make it to 190 deg. In the winter the gauge is always below 130.

Is it worth it to install a thermostat and external filter, or am I wasting my time/money?

I run an external filter on my car. Nice little setup. Used a permacool unit.
