tranny cooler mounting
I dont have pics, but I will describe it to you the best I can.
I hvae the B&M 24k cooler. If you have ever seen this cooler, it is built differntly than most coolers. If you try to look through the cooler, you have to turn it at an angle to see the sir holes. Well, I took advantage of the design of he holes.
I mounted mine directly in front of the condenser, but I have it postioned vertically with the inlet and outlet both pointing toward the passenger side of the car.
My reasoning is that the air already flows through there pretty well, and being up against the condenser, and my rad. fans kick on at 160 then there will be air being pulled at 160+ and since the air is moving upward at that point, the cooling holes on the cooler are also pointed up, so it is not a major restriction for the condenser/radiator.
I spent 6 housr deciding how I was going to do it and this seemed to be the best cooling method I could come up with.
I have yet to see anyone mount it this way, only horizontally, but the fins run vertically, so is the air really flowing well that way? I don't know, but as soon as I get a trans. temp gauge I will tell you guys the results.
I made 5 passes at the track last night and NO SHIFT PROBLEMS AT ALL!!!
