I'm trying to swap kmy gears in my 02' Z28. Which are the best to switch to. My Z28 has the 273 gears...any advice is appreciated...thanks

 

I think the cheapest/easiest route is to just find a 3.42 rear out of an M6 car.

 

what are your mods and goals? most guys seem to like 4.10s in a M6 and 3.73 in a A4

 

I don't really know my mod goals yet. Everything is stock so far. But I'm just trying to find out what's the best thing to do

 

Hey whats up!I am just going to change my gears in a couple of weeks.I am going to change them to 3.42 because I do alot of highway driving.Everybody says 3.73 but im still debating.I would not buy thick gears because I heard they whine.Buy a used 3 carrier.But changing gears it will cost you like $200 for gears,$200 for the install,and 100 bucks for a used posi carrier.If your stock I would buy a 1 .lid $90-100,2 .catback $200-500,or buy a muffler and welded on$60-80,3.Ported tb $100-150.To start of.I see thay you live near Torrance maybe Ive seen your car around Boriqua

 

Swaping may not do good as it is already used and does not guarantee you perfectly. I had been swap once my exhaust back then.Not long my car stopped on the pace Edwards my friend said.I shouldn't have to swap it on a stranger.
