help lock up question

help lock up question ok here it goes. just put in a new "built" tranny with a 3500 stall. when going down the road I have to hold the car at a set speed for about 1 mile before the tc with go into lockup and it doesn't matter the speed, but if I take off at one certain pedal position it goes into lock up fine, also my car has been tuned for a converter using hp tunners, after my tunner adjusted it nothing changed, but he told me my car is throwing C0055 and C0041 codes which I am going to fix, but I don't think those codes have anything to do with it. can you guys help me?
Well the about a mile down the road may be normal since the engine must reach operating temp before lock up is allowed .And from a transmission perspective sounds like all is working fine , I havent looked up those codes so I dont know what they are but they dont look like trans codes, I would suspect maybe a TPS or possibly engine miss fire as something to look at.
