I don't know why you wouldn't. most late 80's truck th400's in both long and short tail came with electric sending units that your harness will plug right into.

will the Speedometer Drive Sensor Rotor work from those too??

Yes it should as long as it gives the same pulses per revolution. If not that can be changed with programming.

So you need the reluctor wheel and sensor off a mid 80's truck or van.
There are two different reluctor wheels, one for the small/long shaft and one for the 32 spline/short shaft. They have different inside diameters.

you don't "have" to make it work, but the cruise won't work without it hooked up. TCS/ABS still work without the speedo hooked up.

Really up to you.
