Transmission Noise
Transmission Noise I have a 200 TA w/ a 4l60 in it and a couple of months ago it started making a subtle tick. It wouldnt make it in park or neutral, only when it was under load driving. It goes with the engine speed, not vehilce speed and it sounds almost like a card stuck in a bike wheel. When youre inside the car it sounds like its coming from directly underneath the center console, right below where my stereo is at. I originally thought it was an exhaust leak because I did a full exhaust swap, but Ive gone over every inch of that exhaust the last few months and havent found anything. The trans still shifts fine except it seems like I have to give it a little more gas quicker to get it to pick up the downshift. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.
I am sorry I dont have and answer but if the sound changes with engine speed rather than vehicle I would look at engine/flexplate stuff
