when I shift from park to drive it slams in to gear and there is a bang noise. its been doing this for a while, the trans mount is good but im putting the poly mount and motor mounts in on monday or tuesday.

also last week I was driving and it felt like my u joint was going to snap so I babied it home, jacked it up and saw that the tail shaft bushing was around the end of the drive shaft. it spit right out past the seal. any ideas why?

Not sure if it can have any effect on it but is the line pressure jacked way up?

The tail shaft bushing is probably your whole issue , But since it came out it probably spun in the bore. You will need a new tail housing

the bore looked fine when I took it off the other day and replaced the bushing and seal. when I put the drive shaft in I could still move it around when it is on the tailshaft. How much play should be there? When I took it for a test drive It shook like hell when there was no load on it, coasting. so now im thinking that the part of the driveshaft that slips over the tailshaft is messed up too.

Ok, I think I have most of my problems figured out. the clunk or slaming from park to reverse or drive was fixed. I was reading other threads and someone was having similar problems and they tightened the lca bolts and it went away. That was one of my problems. chainging the driveshaft helped with some of the vibrations. the rest of the vibrations are coming from my true duals being dumped before the axel. just sitting in park and revving it it shakes the hell out of the car. hopefully some of this will go away when I extend it over the rear axel.
