Quick Converter question's
Yes, if you blow thru a verter you can get very inefficient upstairs and you'll seem not to gain speed as fast as you should....
Your shift problem could be that the blow thru (shift extension) is above or very near your limiter. Or, that your engine accellerates so fast, that your old shift points are no longer valid. Causing a "late shift" which inturn tags the limiter before the shift can be made. Either way you need to drop your shift points to compensate...
............... I'd wait to get that new verter installed to find out how much it helps tighten up that extension first..because you might not be able to get that shift low enough if that verter extension is above your limiter...Man....I can't even believe that verter held that....Everybody that has turbos and superchargers around here use Yank PYE 3400 or 3600 in their 4L60e's. Even a SS3200 (lot tighter "NA" than your SS3600 you have installed) will not hold that extension down...Especially sense it's so easy to turn the boost up and cause the verter to blow thru again. For this reason and the great power I know this converter line holds, I recommend the PYE line.....
Expect 3-4 miles an hour gain in trap speed and maybe a lot more in your case, from your way over stalled combo to that tighter converter. Mark (WAHUSKER) has seen 3mph gain on his car going from a SS3200 to the PYE...
