Default 2007 vette 6 speed auto trans

what is this transmission rated at? and is this a better option then rebuilding my 4l60e? or swapping for a 4l80e?

as far as i know, at this time, it is impossible to swap a 4L60E for a 6L80E. it may be possible in the future, but for now, your options are a built 4L60E, TH350, TH400, 4L80E and powerglide.

582Nm input torque. The controller is internal to the trans (requiring a totally different vehicle wiring harness hook-up). This would be a very difficult if not impossible swap.

Pointless. More gears just gives you more shift time and more parts to break. Get a properly built 4 speed with the right converter and you will have the correct powerband.

Yes. It has no case extension and uses a very shallow bell housing that mates to a torque tube (connected to the engine).

i was wondering how difficult that swap would be too

not that i'm interested in doing it. more like curious to see if the classic GM parts-swap fest would work to our favor again

maybe there will be an 09 GTO/Camaro option that may fit in our cars. i cant see the benefit besides highway mileage, and even then i'm pretty sure the 6th gear isnt far from our 4th.

Why is everyone so concerned with the programmer? Why can't they just be setup as a manual shift auto, once B&M or Hurst comes out with a shifter? Having a 6 speed without a clutch would rock!
