slow to shift into gear 4L60E?

slow to shift into gear 4L60E? I have a 94 Camaro Z28 A4. When i go to drive her I reverse out of my parking spot which reverse works fine, but when i stop and put it in Dive it takes a good two seconds or more for it do engage in that gear. What could cause this. also under hard ecxeleration the tranny slips. please help.
