question on torque converter fluid and trans fluid
i have a 4l60e, the torque converter hasnt been installed on it yet and there is an opening that has a big cap over it right now that fluid can spill out of. how do i know there is enough fluid in the torque converter?
also how many quarts of trans. fluid does the 4l60e take?
any info much appreciated
thanks

Well first the converter and trans share that same fluild, You will have to remove that cap. Now most people consider it a good idea to pour about a quart of fliuld into the converter before installation , Then after the trans is in the car add to the trans till full,
The trans pump will fill the converter. You only need to make sure the trans is full.
