Default tranny problem come help!!!!!

i have a 2000 t/a with 37000 miles and a 3000 stall it shifts all the gears fine no thumps or noting and at wot its perfect. but if im drinvin normal like highway it will shift 1-2 perfect 2-3 perfect but the 3-4 shift takes forever to shift. like it doesnt wanna shift when it finally does ill be crusin at like 60 in overdrive and it will like downshift itself its weird like it doesnt want to be in overdrive anyone know?

Are you sure its coming out of overdrive or is the converter not locking or unlocking?

Have viewed what the computer is telling the trans to do with a scan tool? Also have you had a tuning done? Might be a couple of things to look at. Vince

ive never had this problem untill now ive had the car for over a year and all i have is a hypertech but the stall was in the car b4 i baught it and i dont think it was tuned just because if i leave in in d and floor it it will redline but if i put it in 1 and punch it click it into 2 then so on it shifts fine

I would think that your OD is no bueno, but it could be a stall issue. You do have a cooler on the car correct?

hey its deff not od its something with the stall i had the car for a year and it had the stall when i baught it i added a tranny cooler about a month ago so its the stall because when i was at 60 today and its driving fine and i felt it like drop down a gear and the rpms rose but im like wait a second i down shifted to 3 and u felt it down shift and the rpms rose higher and then i put it back into D u felt it shift and the rpms dropped a lil bit so its deff the stall whats the problem and how do i fix it? o and btw on the highway sometimes it will drive perfectly normal and sometimes it will go on and off

If you just installed the tranny cooler then my money is on something is burnt up in the tranny. Heat is the number one enemy of transmissions.
