Help, Vig 3200 and 2.73

Help, Vig 3200 and 2.73 Hi guys,
I have the vig 3200 and 2.73 gears, i'm throwing P0756 code when i go slowly(20-30mph) up the hills ( not all the time, but once in awhile).
My mechanic says that my TC slipping too much and my RPMs do not math my MPHs and the computer gets lost.
Would then going from 2.73 to 3.42 help the deal ?
