Default Performabuilt th400 Questions

I was wondering does the manual shift th400 keep the front bands that allow it to be downshifted at any time? And would i need a new drive shaft going from the 4l60e to the th400?

So as to make myself clear the intermediate band is still there and has not been removed as is done in some builds

Thanks for the info, when I seen that you guys have the th400 on your site i was pretty interested, it's alright it took a while to reply it's no big deal. I'm just trying to figure out what i want to do transmission wise, I dont want to buy a converter and take a chance with the stock 4l60e, But i dont want to buy a trans yet if i don't have to with stock like power. The th400 is very tempting though, especially if/when I end up supercharging the car or putting a 408 in it. I'm just wondering if i can keep the stock shifter? If not does the auto/manual valve body shift instantly like the rmvb? I'm just trying to figure out what i want to do first so when i go to do anything i'm not buying the same parts twice for different things.
