Default Stock Z with a TH 400!??

ok theres a kid running around in a 2000 z28 with headers and 373 gears and he broke his tranny so he thinks that he needs a th 400, i told him that was a bad idea and to just have his 4l60e built by a reputable tranny builder

he told me that he keeps braking the tailshaft, he's broke 4 of them the first time he broke it it was right after he had it dyno tuned and the tuner raised his line pressure all the way up and he thinks that is what broke it, so he had that fixed had his driveshaft rebalenced put a new tailshaft in and then it broke again like a day later, then some guy at a shop told him to get a chasis mounted torque arm so he did and he broke another tailshaft, what would cause the tailshaft to keep braking??

I am assuming your talking the tail housing , Usually this is and alignment issue in the supension. There are ome very powerfull cars running 4l60es without this issue . But it does come up from time to time and power does not seem to matter, There have been quite a few post about this and fixes.
Though raising the line presure all the way up is not a good idea at all in my opinion its the wrong way to get a shift kit type feel, While it may have made his problem show itself more due to the additional impact of the shift its not the cause. Has the car been lowered or lifted for bigger tires etc. Also though it may sound strange I have seen the torque bar bent making the rear run at and odd angle also

There is definatley a different problem than horsepower if he has taken the TA off the tailshaft and still broken it.
Find out whats wrong, something else is broken and/or badly misaligned.
