Default Powerglide ?

Has Any One Drove An Ls1 Much With A Powerglide.
Car Is Basically Stock W/exception Of A 9" W/4.11 Gears
What Is Drive Ability Like

Well you will have only two gears one moderatly low and the other 1 to 1 with 411 gears you can figure 3300 to 3600 rpm at 55 mph , Not very drivable, You also will not have lockup so if you have a hi stall again and issue. Powerglide is generally considered race only stuff

i built this trans myself and have built many others. in my opinion just because its a powerglide doesn't mean its a race only tranny, i was just wondering if anyone had this combo after an a4 tranny, and if so was there any et gains over the a4.

I didnt say you couldnt drive them on the street just to me having 2 gears would be bad. Not having overdrive would be worse and having just two dosent seem fun I am actually old enough I have driven quite a few powerglide cars back when they came from the factory that way lol

thats cool, I aint tryin to sound like an a** I just want to know how these cars react to powerglides on the street. i know its going to pic it up on the track.

So you are saying you can't get a lock up converter for a glide?

I know you can get a dual stall converter with the fluid-by-pass.
One for launch and one for 2nd gear to run it out the back door.

I was under the impression that 'glides work better in lighter cars (like 3200lbs or less), and th400 was a better match for heavier cars.....both track and street.

Glide w/4.11= unless you go with taller tire. Stock tire you will be about 112mph @ 6000rpm. If you are looking to put in a glide to lower your et I hope you are trapping more than 110-115mph. I believe a 29 in tire will put you in the area of 140mph @ 6000rpm though.
