Default can i keep the 93 tranny when switching to a 94 pcm?

my buddy has a 93 lt1 with the 700r4 he wants to switch it to a 94-95 pcm so it can be tuned, we have the connectors for the pcm , i was just gonna splice his exisitng harness to match, the only thing is the transmission has a detent cable instead of being electronicly controlled, it still has connections on it just not as many, what can be done to keep the transmission as it is already built up.

the pcm would need to be tuned to have all the trans functions removed, you will need to find a way to get the lock up converter working,,

i think there is more involved than just splicing in the correct pcm connectors, the 93 is batch fire for the injectors, 94 and newer are sequential, and the harness for the maf for the 94 and newer

A 700r-4 has to have the throttle pressure cable hooked up and properly adjusted to work and live , you will also have to have lockup working to keep from losing lube in 4th gear .With the proper switch and harness inside It can be wired to have lockup in 4th with just a 12 volt keyed circuit . If the car had a 4l60e in it you can have it built to work as good as the 700 or even better !!! John

You can use a lockup kit and as mentioned you will need to have the PCM reflashed as a manual
