Torque Converter and Dyno Numbers?
When I had my car dynoed the first time it had the stock converter in it. Now I have a VIG 3200 and want to know if the converter will make my numbers go up, down, or have no effect at all?
My car dyno'd 318rwhp & 335tq with the stock converter. Couple weeks later it went 314rwhp & 390tq with the addition of a Yank TP-4400.
BTW: ET went from a 12.67 @ 108.83 to a 12.07 @ 111.42 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> I'll take the HP loss <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

tq will increase but your HP may stay the same or drop a tad...
its also hard to really dyno a4's with stall... mine had issues on the dyno and only showed 277hp and 300 tq with a vig3600 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
but i went from 12.8's to 11.9's with stall and headers on nittos

Don't worry about numbers. ET's are what matter. OK now that being said HP will drop off and TQ will go up. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
I was trying to figure out how much horsepower I gained from my headers, cats, y-pipe, and dyno tuning. My fist dyno was 310 before the mods listed above, and torque converter. My new dyno was 333, but I expected a little more out of the headers, y-pipe, cats and dyno tuning. If the converter robs me of a few horsepower then it would make sense.
