Default 4l60 help!!!

this is really long but i wanted it to be detailed..please help

i have a 99 trans am a4...it has 93k miles and has mac mids and a 11" tci break away stall...
just within the last couple of months i put these puts on..what has been happening is the trans whines when in gear. it was fine no whine with the stock tc...few weeks have gone by...yesterday the whine was louder and had a chirping kind've sound...

that and the whine went away this morning... the whole time it has shifted fine and ran great at the track...

On the way home today just leaving the redlight it shimmed a little and then lost all gears...with it idleing checked the fluild, its fine...still pink and does not have to much of a burnt smell...

I turned it off for about five minutes to try again... it then went in gear and i limped home...when i got close and out of traffics way i gave it part throttle and it felt little funny but seemed to shift fine...
once in my apartment grounds i could hear the whineing again..i stopped and put in netrual for few sounds and then in gear and little gas and it moved a little and kindve poped in gear...

does anybody think that the filter could be clogged causeing the pump to whine and line pressure to drop?
please help........

The filter is likley clogged but thats not the source but rather the symptom of a problem , You have a trans/converter or both failure in process. Likley both sorry

If you have metal shavings in the bottom of the pan, and they do not stick to a magnet, then it is aluminum. The torque converter coming apart can cause this. You have a TCI torque converter, and I have seen them come apart a few times over the years, this might be the cause of this problem. If it is, go with a better TC next time around, such as Vigilante or Yank. I would start saving for a good performance build, as this transmission is history.

Sorry to be off topic in my posts above that is really a seperate issue. With that being said, I recently did a unit for Matt D and he was having an issue like yours. It turned out that he was having a converter issue as well. His trans was hurt pretty bad due to the filter being filled up with metal from the pump and converter. The clutches and the band were fried due to the lack of fluid pressure. Good luck with your situation. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Vince
