You know, this is the day...
I'm about to take my car in to do this. But I can't say this whole ordeal has been a pleasure. I thought I really wanted to do the a4 to m6 swap but when you get really close, you start having second thoughts. After hearing all the t56 problems, and the probability of missing gears and bending pushrods, I'm also considering the high stall converter (which by the way would take an m6 off the line). I've been walking around my house the last hour trying to decide between the two. There's really no winning here. Sorry to ramble. Anyway, you will need the tranny, console, ECM reprogrammed, among other things to do the swap. But basically, everything else is bolt in.

This might be useful:

It's for an LT1 though.

Thanx for the reply man. I have an M6 LS1 right now and I am selling it and getting a A4 98 for at a good price. I know want an M6 again so deciding isnt really the issue

BTW im selling the SS for financial reasons since there are probably some people wondering

I checked out a couple sites and price of T56 changeovers and the LT1 changeovers tend to be cheaper. Anyone know why? And anyone have any other links to people who sell changeovers besides those ones listed in that how-to?
