Default M6 to TH400 Difficulty Rating (Do it yourself ?)

I'm by no means a master mechanic, but over the past year I've done alot of work on my car and have pretty much figured stuff out as I went. I've done heads, cam, headers, all bolt ons, some electrical etc. So far I haven't touched my tranny or my rear, I've let the shop do the work. I had my Moser 12 bolt installed for $300, and I recently had my RAM VDS 910 clutch and Adjustable Master installed for $250.

I'm starting to get really tired of shifting, I've had a manual car for years now, and I wanna get back to an automatic. I also wanna move up a class at the track from pro to super pro. I could only compete with these guys if I have a transbrake and an auto etc. I've made the decision to go with a lock-up TH400 tranny w/ transbrake and manual valve body, and a pretty decent TC and a good rachet style shifter.

Here's my question, for you guys that have installed the TH400 yourself, how would rate the install difficutly?

Is this something I could probably do myself, like in my driveway? I have some 4 ton truck jack stands so I can get my car pretty high off the floor safely. I know there is going to be some fabricating needed, I'm pretty good at that stuff. If you seasoned veterans out there could give me some info on the install, or if I can contact you via email or phone let me know, that would be great.

I live down in the Fort Lauderdale/Palm Beach area of South Florida, does anyone know of a local shop down here that can build a good race prepped TH400? I know MACGUYVER got his local in Orlando? is that correct?

Any info helps! Thanks guys.

Dont have time right now to make a full post. But email me at will_z@msn.com and I'll get back to you tonight. I can say it's definately a do it your self job if you've installed heads/cam you can do it easy.

If you do a trans brake you'll wind up with a manual valve body, and will still have to shift the trans yourself. The swap is not hard though.
