Default th400 for a ls1 (swap over)

When doing a th400 for a ls1 swap besides the trany, driveshaft, trany mount, cooler, lines, dipstick, shifter etc.. is there anything that is LS1 specific?
Will I just need a ls1 flywheel and a ls1 converter or will I use a a TH400 converter?
Is there any converter stall holdbacks for the ls1 I am thinking of using a fairly high converter as I am just wanting to put a ls1 in the camaro to shake out the suspension.

Thanks for your time all
Steven

Use a flex plate from an 01-02 Fbody. Make sure you buy some ARP studs for the flexplate (Jegs $25), and the TH400 should bolt right up using a TH400 Converter. Call Madman & Co. or TCI to get a recommendation on stall size. Madman is putting my entire TH400 kit together. Everything but the shifter and the electric cooling fan. Great package deal.

Install, add fluid, enjoy.

Your going to have to get a TH400 converter, I used to run around w/a J.W. 10" converter, 4500 stall, that was a big converter, flashed to about 5000 when I put my foot to the floor, and went a good amount higher off the T-brake...your going to need a new crossmember too...

The 4500 stall took a while to get the car moving, I now have a 3500 stall, which is a litte better for the street, but I'm thinking about going to a 3800-4000 stall, still haven't made up my mind...

So there are already holes for the TH 400 converter on the newer flex plates? I am also wondering about the shifter. Is it front exit or rear exit for the cable? Also when i checked Jegs and even ARPs website they only have bolts for the LS1 flywheel. Are the flywheel bolts the same as the flexplate? If madman is putting a kit together he should have the crossmember for it. I know yank also has a crossmember but are there any other places i could possibly get one.

You have to drill the new flexplate you get to adapt for the TH400...

Thanks guys
Already have the th400 setup in the car so the crossmemeber is in there, but have a twin turbo sbc motor in the car and just wanting to play with the car some. (reason for the ls1)
Thanks again guys. Just have to find myself a bone stock ls1 to see what the car will do without mods to the motor. Should be fun since the chassis is fully built to not be able to wonder if i did more suspension mods etc.

Thanks again all for the info looks like i got most under control.

Here is the part number for Jegs....I took this directly off of my email order confirmation.
Item# = 070-330-2802
Description = ARP Flywheel/Flexplate Bolts
Chevy LS-1, 11mm Pro
Qty/Price = 1 at $24.99 = $24.99

Oh, and dont forget an Autometer Tranny temp gauge. I bought an Ultra lite for $42.99. THIS IS MANDATORY!!! You must keep an eye on that tranny temp with a big stall!!

I also bought a Cheetah SCS shifter $269.99 (its gated, and is the best shifter on the market, excellent transbrake switch mounted in a perfect spot)

I am still a few weeks away from doing the install. As usual I will try to take some pics. Pretty much decided to go with the 4000 Stall. Anything more then that, and I fear overheating for friday/saturday night cruises.
