what's the difference between the two, and which one is better? thinking of doing the swap just wondering which is better and what the differences are.

Re: th350 or th400
Well looks like your motor setup is pretty similar to what I'm doin...I'm going 372 iron though...6.0L block...
I'm running a TH400, if you drive your car on the street a lot, the TH400 is the way to go because its built to handle that stuff better, the TH350 might be lighter, but needs to be rebuilt way more than the TH400 to handle the street use..
The TH400 can handle probably well over 1000hp...

Re: th350 or th400
TH400 is the only way to go for reliability. Having the overdrive may suit your needs more, but for my car being a weekend only drag racer, it was the best fit.
Madman & Co. is building my TH400 setup with a big stall, transbrake, cooler, and driveshaft. There is a guy here in town running low 9's in his Z-28 with the identicle setup. Its a proven combination that has not failed yet. Check my sig for the link to his shop. Watch his 9 second run, and you will see that the tranny is tight!
