M6 to A4 problems HELP!
M6 to A4 problems HELP! I recently did a M6 to A4 conversion on my 99 ta and ran into some problems. Here is the run down. I used my m6 harness and ordered a adaptor harness that plugs into the trans to the pcm (15~wires) and had my pcm reflashed. The car runs great, but I lost my reverse lights and cruise control. I was looking at some wiring diagrams of the cruise control wondered if I could by pass the clutch switch and run the power wire to the brake switch. The car starts because of the zip tie holding the clutch switch down, but the cc won't work because the switch is closed (car thinks the pedal is pushed in). The A4 wiring diagram just has the switch on the brake pedal.
Problem number 2 is the reverse lights. They don't work now becuase they are not hooked up to anything, but what/could I hook them up to? My shifter has the switch mounted on the shifter handle, but I don't have the A4 harness so I don't have the orginal connector. How could I rewire my m6 b/u lights into the switch to make it work? Am I on the right track?
Any help would be great.

I simple issue that would make the fuctions automatic for the backup lights etc would be to get a PRNDL switch for a truck and change the link shaft to a long one , You might have to modify theshifter bracket a little and then get the harness conector and wire into it to make your back up and neutral saftey work. I can send you the diagrams for the truck. Just and idea?

Yes it bolts right on th side of the trans over the linkage shaft. Send me and email to performabuilt@yahoo.com and ill send you the diagram. The normal email wont alow me to send pictures
