Default TH350 aftermarket shifter question?

Does anyone know if the shifter with the cable coming out of the top will work? My torque arm is mounted to the tunnel by a big steel plate that apparently will not be easy to slot. I think that most use the style with the linkage cable coming out of the bottom. This is for a T56 to TH350 swap.

Are you referring to shifters with front or rear exit cables?
My Pro Stick has a front exit cable and works out fine with my TH400.

My hurst pistol grip is front exit and not problems here with my Th350. The stocker exits in the front.

Yes. I have a longer cable so it makes gradual bends.
It kinda loops on top of the tranny.

Same here. The stock cable is about 2 1/2 to 3 feet and the cable that came with the shifter is like 5-6 feet.

Thanks for the info. I bought the B&M with the pistol grip as it has interchangeable gate plates. It can be used with any tranny by just switching out a plate.

Ya ive got a Hurst Pistol Grip on mine and all that extra damn cable is useless so i had to wrap mine around the tranny once.. My hurst shifter was missing some pieces and they're service sucked so right now my shifter is acting up. Hurst didn't even send me the lil bracket that comes off the side of the transmission that the linkage hooks up to.. So for me no more Hurst bc they freakin sucked and left out to much ****.

My hurst came with 4 brackets I think one for each type of tranny (GM, Ford, chrysler, etc). All that extra cable is kinda annoying.
