SY3500 question
Now my real question is, I have 2.73 gears, should I change to 3.42 gears or even 3.73's? Or am I fine at 2.73, it seems like I read a lot of people saying the SY3500 is better with those gears. What should I do?
Next question, what gains should I expect to get on my 60's and my 1/4's, I know this is a mild converter, but I should see something?
Next question is what should I expect to break and approxmately how long before it breaks?
And any other info you may find I need to know, like should Ibuy a sift kit, or a cooler or whatever else goes along with buying a TC

It will be a good combo with street tires or nittos. Expect .6 or more off your 1/4 mile once you master the launch. You should feel much faster on the street too.

I shaved off three tenths in the 8th and over a half second in the quarter with the SY3500 and some Nittos. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Does anyone know if midwest makes a converter very similar to the SY3500, I like all its features, moderate take off, and good power through the rpm band.
I am big on quality too, I don't want to get something and then have it break.....So of midwest makes something that gives very similar performance #'s and very good quality, i'll be all over that like white on rice

What gains did you see at the track?
My main track goal is to get into the 12.5-12.75 range, then i'll be happy, I think that will be easy to do with some tires, headers, converter, and all the little bolt ons including some suspension.
That was my first dyno, but I suspect my RWHP and torque were around 300 to 305 for both.
From the gains the converter gave me, I'd trade a couple RWHP any day. That torque does a lot to make the ET spectacular!

Unlocked you'll see the full effect of torque multiplication, most noticeable below where your peaks are when locked.

But, from what I've heard, convertors actually make your car dyno lower, although they do go faster. My car always dyno'd WAY lower than others to begin with, so that didn't help. I'm not quite sure how to read the torque on my chart though. Since it started out with a spike of 350rwtq, I used the torque reading at the same rpm as what my highest hp number was at.
Unfortunately I can't help you with times though since I don't go to the track. I can say that I'm very happy with the SY3500, although there are times where I think about the TP4000 for awesome midrange and highway runs. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />
