Default what does this seal go to?

a guy at the transmission parts place said this goes to the servo. on the video im watching it doesnt say anything about putting this type of ring in anywhere including the servo. also when i took the servo apart, it didnt have it in it. i'm curious because its in my transmission rebuilt kit

its plastic like but flexible, is not a full circle and at the ends it slopes down to a point

sorry for the bad pic, im having trouble getting my camera to focus

GOES IN POSITION 17 ON THE EXPLODED PICTURE OR COULD GO IN POSITION 25 ON THE PICTURE, ITS HARD TO DETERMINE SIZE OF THE RING FROM THE PIC BUT IT WOULD GO IN ONE OF THOSE SPOTS

Thats whats called a scarf cut seal. The original probably wasn't cut, was just solid. Rebuild kits have these because they are easier to install than solid seals.
