Trans is dead...no 3rd or 4th
Trans is dead...no 3rd or 4th Well my trans has been starting to act weird these last couple of days..It would kinda shutter when shifting into 3rd, and the shift into 4th would be kinda "mushy"..and it would take it a second or two for it to engage into 4th. Well today when i was on my way to the store, i was driving about 50mph, and all of a sudden it just felt like i was in neutral..if i gave it any gas it would just free rev..I put it in D and managed to get to the store. On my way back from the store, 3rd gear started doing the same thing. So now i basically have 1st and 2nd. Once i'm up to speed in 2nd i can put it in 3rd and kinda maintain my speed..but i cant accelerate at all in 3rd. So i dont really know what to do at this point. I only live like a mile from where i go to school..so i guess i can just use 1st and 2nd for a while...but either way this sucks. So i just thought i'd let you guys know that there's another blown up A4 out there..
There is now doubt that the 3-4 clutch is more than likely hurt however it sounds as if your band might be having issues as well. Feel free to give Chuck or myself a call at the shop if you would like to discuss your situation. Vince
