Default c5 transmission solution

I just finshed my rebuild and put a 2800 stall on the car as well. I have heard the stall will add a lot of heat to the transmission and I have learned very quickly on here that 9 of 10 tranny failures are due to heat. I do not want to put a tranny cooler on the car so i was wondering if this was a good solution. I was planning on putting a 160* thermostat on. The tranny fluid runs throught the radiator to cool off so if the coolant is always cooler, it should help cool the tranny as well correct?

Input appreciated.

I don't believe your engine is designed to run in that temp range ! Why would you not want to add a cooler to it ??????

There are coolers made that are "stacked" with a built in fan that can be controled automaticaly or with a switch that can be mounted in an area that doesn't have to have normal airflow !!!

Now that being said , you will not regret adding a cooler . Mounting them can be interesting sometimes but it's needed !!
